Delhi court orders framing of charges against Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav in IRCTC hotel scam case
On Thursday, the Rouse Avenue Court ordered the framing of money laundering charges against former Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, and son Tejashwi Yadav in the IRCTC scam case.
Special Judge Vishal Gogne observed that Yadav allegedly treated the railway ministry as his "personal fief," influencing the tender process for hotel operations in Ranchi and Puri to secure personal gains.
Investigators allege a land plot in Patna was transferred to Lalu associate Sarla Gupta, who then transferred shares to Rabri Devi for a nominal amount, forming a crucial money laundering trail.
While the court also framed charges against entities including Lara Projects and Sujata Hotels, it discharged seven individuals, including Rahul Yadav, Gaurav Gupta, and Nath Mal Kankarnia, from the case.
Following the framing of charges, the Rouse Avenue Court scheduled the next hearing for October 3 to proceed against remaining accused, including Prem Chand Gupta, Vinay Kochkar, and Vijay Kochar.
