Delco Christian outlasts Williamsburg in 1A final for first PIAA girls basketball title

Delco Christian won its first PIAA girls basketball championship with a 39-36 victory over Williamsburg in the Class 1A final Friday afternoon at the Giant Center in Hershey.It was tied 36-36 with 21 seconds to play, but Delco came up with the goods late. Mary O’Donnell’s 1-for-2 trip to the line gave Delco the lead for good, followed by free throws from Ella Stinger and Dominique Good. Delco closed the game on a 9-2 run in the second half.
