David Martinez, Hugo Lloris help LAFC end Minnesota United's winning streak with 1-0 victory
Hugo Lloris made five saves and preserved his 32nd career shutout as LAFC ended Minnesota United’s four-match winning streak.
On Saturday, David Martinez scored in the 9th minute as LAFC defeated Minnesota United 1-0, ending the visitors' four-match winning streak in Western Conference play.
LAFC snapped a 0-2-1 winless stretch with the victory, moving both clubs tied for third in the Western Conference before Saturday's match.
Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris recorded his eighth shutout with five saves for LAFC, while Minnesota United goalkeeper Drake Callender made six saves to keep the match competitive.
Minnesota nearly equalized when midfielder Joaquín Pereyra hit the post in the 77th minute; Lloris later preserved the victory by stopping a shot from James Rodríguez in stoppage time.
LAFC visits San Diego next Saturday while Minnesota United travels to face the Columbus Crew on the same day as both teams continue their Western Conference campaigns.
