Daicel DURAST(R) POM Fine Powder Adopted for Innovative Stick-form Lubricant
Maia’s solid lubricant cuts conventional maintenance oil use by about 80% and avoids dripping and splattering, Daicel said.
On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, Daicel Corporation announced that its DURAST POM fine powder has been adopted for use in an innovative stick-form lubricant produced by Japan-based Maia.
Maia utilizes its Sol Mid manufacturing technology to create the product by mixing UHMW-PE with grease, enabling custom molded shapes and stick-form packaging.
The solid format prevents leakage, dripping, and splattering while reducing conventional oil usage by approximately 80% for office equipment maintenance.
Full-Scale commercialization targets major office equipment manufacturers alongside industrial sectors including machinery repair, conveyor systems, and bicycle maintenance.
Daicel developed DURAST POM through proprietary manufacturing to create fine, sharp particles that act as an interlayer between UHMW-PE and grease, ensuring compatibility.
