D66 wants political parties to only be able to participate in national elections if they admit members and ensure internal democracy. The proposal, which is supported by GroenLinks-PvdA and the CDA, is intended, according to its initiators, to ensure that parties also function "democratically internally." The PVV does not meet these requirements and could therefore be banned under this potential new law.
