Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 Anime's New Video Teases Escape From Akasaka
Netflix’s latest clip teases a standalone 10-episode story with new characters and a revenge-driven plot.
- On Tuesday, Netflix released a new sneak peek for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, teasing an escape scene from an Akasaka building. The anime series, produced by Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red, premieres October 20, 2026.
- The trailer introduces new protagonists Roman Carax, Talia Yang, D, and Weak Kingsley, replacing the original series' crew including David and Lucy. The standalone 10-episode story is described as "a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge."
- Directed by Kai Ikarashi in his directorial debut, the sequel features English dub voice actors Clancy Brown, Valeria Rodriguez, Kimoy Lee, and Nazeeh Tarsha. Production continues collaboration with the studio behind the Cyberpunk 2077 game.
- The soundtrack features an original score by Tsuneo Imahori and the track "YOU CAN'T RUN FROM ME" written by Rico Nasty. The Cure's 1978 song "10:15 Saturday Night" serves as the opening theme.
- Beyond the October 20 streaming debut, Aniplex of America will release the series on Blu-ray Disc on October 28. Anime Limited, Plaion Pictures, and Sugoi Co will handle home video distribution in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
