Cullen set to depart Leinster at end of next season
Leinster Rugby and the Irish Rugby Football Union will begin a formal search for a successor after Cullen's 12-year run and six United Rugby Championship titles.
On Monday, Leinster Rugby head coach Leo Cullen announced he will step away from his role at the end of the 2026/27 season following the conclusion of his contract.
By the time he departs in 2027, Cullen will have served 12 years as head coach, having initially joined Leinster 32 years ago as a Schools player.
During his tenure, Cullen secured six URC titles, including a victory last Friday, and became the first person to win the European Rugby Champions Cup as a player and coach.
In collaboration with the IRFU, Leinster Rugby has launched a formal recruitment process to ensure the best possible candidate is secured for the position.
Cullen remains committed to honoring his contract through the 2026/27 season, while Leinster will return to Laya Arena at the start of the next campaign.
