Cricket Canada appointed Monty Desai as men's national team head coach to restore the organization's prominence through performance, professionalism, and renewed purpose.
The appointment comes 15 days after CBC News reported governance failures and alleged corruption within Cricket Canada, prompting the organization's strategic leadership shift.
Desai brings over 20 years of international coaching experience, including work with the Rajasthan Royals IPL franchise and leadership roles at Nepal and Afghanistan.
Following Canada's participation in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, Desai is tasked with building momentum and achieving greater international consistency for the team.
Secretary Paramjit Saini and President Arvinder Khosa expressed confidence in Desai's vision, while Desai stated, "I am honoured to take on this responsibility.
