Crews tear into Illinois Route 251 bridge deck in Peru

Construction has ramped up on the Illinois 251 bridges over Interstate 80 on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026 in Peru. Crews are removing sections of concrete with jackhammers to replace the bridge deck.
