Drivers face a painful return to higher fuel prices. After the maximum price period ends and the 23% VAT rate is reinstated, the bill at the pump could increase by as much as 0.60-0.90 groszy per liter, according to forecasts from Reflex. Even on Monday, drivers were trying to take advantage of the last few hours of lower prices. In Zakopane, queues formed outside gas stations, and some were running low on fuel.

In Zakopane and surrounding towns, drivers rushed to the gas stations before the Lower Fuel Prices package expired.
