- On Sunday, the Communist Party of India began its extended State Committee meeting in Kozhikode with approximately 307 delegates gathered to conduct a critical review of recent Assembly election losses and organizational performance.
- Instead of traditional top-down methods, the CPI prepared its review by seeking feedback from organizational units at various levels to identify ideological weaknesses and reconnect with its base after the electoral setback.
- Deliberations address the erosion of working-class support to the Congress and the BJP, reports of financial misconduct among leaders, and the Enforcement Directorate's scrutiny of former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The BJP's emergence as a force in Kerala compounds these organizational challenges.
- The leadership plans to finalize a clear action plan to address organizational shortcomings and enhance ideological education. Participants aim to regain political clarity and restore the party's influence among voters who shifted to the Congress and the BJP.
- Concluding the three-day exercise on September 15, the party expects around 1.25 lakh people to participate in a public rally at Kozhikode beach. The gathering signals the CPI's resolve to move beyond the electoral setback.
