Couple married for 52 years killed while crossing Pennsylvania street
A juvenile was seriously injured and flown to Penn State Health Children's Hospital as police continue investigating the crash, authorities said.
On Sunday, a Dodge Ram truck struck and killed 74-year-old Eric Lutz and 71-year-old Donna Lutz at an intersection in Columbia, Pennsylvania.
The couple was returning home to Chestnut Street from lunch with family when the collision occurred, having been married for 52 years.
Eric Lutz hiked the Appalachian Trail, a legacy his brother Kevin reflected on, saying, 'In a weird way, I was glad they died together.'
A juvenile was also struck and transported to Penn State Health Children Hospital with a fractured skull and a small brain bleed.
Columbia police continue investigating the crash as the driver cooperates; Kevin urged drivers to slow down, calling the tragedy 'a real living nightmare.
