- The girls' mother reported them missing on Saturday after leaving a note, and they contacted their aunt the next day from a blocked phone number before Tennessee authorities pinged the suspects' car about 13 hours later.
- Troopers traced a 2025 gray Nissan Rogue to the area of 440 I-81 north in South Middleton Township, where Henry Rodriguez, 36, of Allentown, and Ana Rodriguez Gonzalez, 60, of Tamaqua, were identified as suspects.
- Both suspects are being held in Cumberland County Prison awaiting extradition to Tennessee, and court records show they were denied bail on Monday.
- State police said they were alerted just before midnight Sunday and issued a release Monday morning with few details; troopers stopped the vehicle after a pinged location from Tennessee authorities and officials said the case was not random, involving the Rodriguez family relation to the girls.
