County council 'okays' second reading of $1 billion budget
The Horry County Council gave second reading approval to the 2027 budget Tuesday night that for the first time tops the billion-dollar mark. The 2027 fiscal year budget is slated at $1,015,782,411. The current 2026 budget sits at $869.9 million. There will be no tax millage increase, keeping the level at 52.1 mills. A mill in Horry County brings in $4.37 million.
