The Oneida Common Council had a contentious vote on Tuesday, Aug. 4, over whether to approve the transfer of money from the city's general fund to its gasoline and diesel funds.
The vote came as the city is rapidly running out money in the account for fuel that is used by multiple departments to provide services citywide.
The council defeated the request to transfer approximately $80,000 of funds by a 4-3 vote.
