Costco opening 10 new stores in the US and 4 in Canada as expansion continues
Costco said the expansion includes 82.9 million paid members as it targets 30-plus new warehouses a year.
Costco plans to open 14 new locations across the U.S. and Canada over the next two months, with 10 stores launching in the U.S. and four in Canada.
Chief Executive Officer Ron Vachris stated the company remains focused on increasing its warehouse pipeline, targeting "30+ net new openings per year in the coming years" during the earnings call.
In October, five new U.S. locations will open including Colony, Texas, and Amherst, New York, followed by five additional U.S. stores and four Canadian sites launching in November.
Costco currently operates 928 warehouses worldwide serving 82.9 million paid members, offering The Executive Membership for $130 and the Gold State Membership for $65 annually.
The new Amherst location marks the first Costco in the Buffalo metro region, eliminating the previous 75 miles commute that residents endured to reach the nearest warehouse.
Costco, the American warehouse club retailer, is continuing its expansion, with plans to open 14 new stores in the United States and Canada in October and November, including two in California.
