UNITED NATIONS, Oct 7 - An informal poll by the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday placed former Costa Rican Vice President Rebeca Grynspan as the frontrunner in the race to become the 10th UN Secretary-General, two sources close to the process said. Read more at straitstimes.com.
With 9 positive votes, Grynspan won the diplomatic bid today, but being vetoed by at least one permanent member of the Council, he cannot assume the leadership of the regional forum.
