Convicted Massachusetts Felon Pleads Guilty to Selling Imported Plutonium From Russia to Dozens
Jacob D. Miller sold plutonium to 67 buyers and shipped it abroad while also pleading guilty to weapons and child pornography charges.
- On Monday, Jacob Miller pleaded guilty to importing plutonium from Russia and possessing child pornography in Massachusetts, federal prosecutors said.
- From his home in South Hadley, Miller sold radioactive plutonium to 67 people from Dec. 2020 to March 2025, operating around 15 miles north of Springfield.
- Police discovered child sex abuse material on Miller's laptop and cellphone, which he had accessed one day before the search warrant in April 2025.
- Miller, a convicted felon since February 9, 2004, violated federal laws prohibiting felons from possessing ammunition and explosive materials, the United States Attorney's Office stated.
- Sentencing for Miller is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2027, in United States District Court, where he faces up to 36 years in prison.
