German Great Muller Isn't Ready to Retire, Signs Extension with Vancouver Whitecaps
The German star has 19 goals and 12 assists in 45 appearances, and Whitecaps officials say his leadership has helped drive the club's rise.
On Tuesday, the Vancouver Whitecaps signed 37-year-old midfielder Thomas Müller to a Designated Player contract extension through the 2027 MLS Sprint Season.
Since arriving in August 2025, Müller has been a dominant force, tallying 31 goals and 12 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions for the club.
The club currently holds first place in the Western Conference with a 15-6-5 record, having reached its first MLS Cup final after Müller joined from Bayern Munich.
Whitecaps CEO and sporting director Axel Schuster noted merchandise sales and global awareness have increased 10 times in some areas due to Müller's superstar appeal.
Müller expressed his desire to continue hunting titles, especially the MLS Cup, while remaining mindful of his physical condition for the 2027 season.
