O'Gara to Stay with La Rochelle Until 2031
The former Munster out-half has won two European Cups with La Rochelle and had been linked with the Leinster job.
On Monday, Ronan O'Gara officially ended speculation linking him with Leinster by signing a contract extension to remain head coach of Stade Rochelais until 2031.
Since arriving in 2019, O'Gara guided La Rochelle to back-to-back European Champions Cup titles in 2022 and 2023, delivering the club's first major silverware.
Although O'Gara has expressed ambition to coach at Test level, his options narrowed as Andy Farrell, Steve Borthwick, and Fabien Galthie secured long-term roles with Ireland, England, and France.
La Rochelle made a strong start to the new Top 14 season, defeating Toulouse on the opening weekend before securing a 21-20 away victory against Toulon on Saturday.
"I am convinced that the best is still ahead of us," O'Gara said, as he committed to continuing his work with the club and striving for further success.
