Concordia Shanghai's Robotics Team Cracks the Global Top 3 at VEX Worlds
Five Concordia students finished third worldwide after months of engineering and coaching, marking a major milestone for the school’s robotics program.
On May 6, 2026, five students from Concordia International School Shanghai placed 3rd globally in the VEX V5 Skills Challenge at the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship, marking a major milestone for the program.
Only around 6% of qualified high school VEX teams reach the Worlds, the pinnacle of competition, making Concordia's qualification and top-three finish from their Shanghai location a significant achievement.
Months of disciplined engineering drove the team's success, with Concordia students rebuilding, retesting, and coding parts through countless design cycles to perform at the highest levels.
Beyond the leaderboard, Worlds provided Concordia students an opportunity to exchange ideas in the pit aisles, studying autonomous logic and match strategy with teams from other schools.
Dedicated educators built and supported Concordia's robotics program through K-12 pathway development and coaching, creating conditions for students to thrive at the highest levels and making this result a testament to program strength.
