- On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, Commodore International Corporation opened preorders for the Commodore 77, a Cyberpunk 2077-themed FPGA-powered recreation of the Commodore 64 priced at $377. This marks the company's first-ever franchise hardware partnership.
- CD PROJEKT RED and Commodore collaborated to design a device that feels like a 'relic from Night City.' Peri Fractic, President, CEO, and Chief Product Officer, Commodore, said the partnership celebrates "the spirit of Cyberpunk 2077."
- Created by Polish C64 group Arise, the demo ships on an exclusive 'Arasaka' cartridge featuring 24-channels of stereo SID chip music and an original soundtrack by chiptune legend LukHash. It offers an "experience" that "expands the lore of the Cyberpunk universe."
- Compatible with 99.9% of over 10,000 existing C64 games and peripherals, the unit uses original injection mold tooling. Buyers can choose between the original beige 'breadbin' shape or the Amiga-esque C64C design.
- Shipping in early 2027, the Commodore 77 marks a milestone in Commodore's 68-year history. This product continues the legacy of the original company founded in 1958, blending modern FPGA-powered tech with the iconic Commodore 64 design.
