A forest fire spread into Colombia’s Iguaque flora and fauna sanctuary, one of Boyacá’s key ecosystems. More than 250 emergency personnel, supported by four helicopters, were battling the blaze as authorities investigated the suspected cause.
The flames already razed with 800 hectares in the Sanctuary of Flora and Fauna of Iguaque. As the hours passed, the emergency grows.
In Colombia, hundreds of forces are fighting a large forest fire. The fire north of the capital Bogotá has now reached an important nature reserve and continues to spread. The authorities expect arson.
