CDF Munir Says Pakistan Army Fully Prepared to Counter Internal, External Threats

- On December 13, 2025, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, visited Gujranwala and Sialkot Garrisons and reiterated military preparedness, ISPR reported.
- Last week, the Ministry of Defence issued Munir's appointment notification, confirming he will serve concurrently as COAS for five years, following President Zardari's November 15 assent to amendment bills and application of Article 243.
- He witnessed a field training exercise and an advanced simulator training facility, praising the formation's professional standards and lauding officers and soldiers' high morale and mission-oriented training.
- CDF Munir warned India of a more "severe response" if it resorts to aggression and said a clear message was given to the Afghan Taliban regime in Kabul, reiterating Pakistan's peace stance.
- Emphasising technological adaptability, Field Marshal Asim Munir said modern warfare demands agility, precision, situational awareness and swift decision‑making after his historic promotion as Pakistan's second Field Marshal in more than six decades to improve multi‑domain operations across the army, air force and navy.
