CityUHK achieves historic high in THE World University Rankings 2027, soaring to 70th globally
CityUHK scored its highest result in the ranking, with top marks in industry collaboration and international outlook, THE said.
City University of Hong Kong achieved its highest-ever position in the THE World University Rankings 2027, advancing three places to rank 70th globally among 2,297 institutions evaluated across 118 countries.
CityUHK recorded across-the-board score improvements in Teaching, Research Environment, and Research Quality, with the Research Quality pillar surging into the global top 50, bolstered by full marks across critical indicators.
The University retained the world No. 1 spot in the Industry pillar for the fourth consecutive year, while maintaining its top position in Hong Kong in International Outlook for the ninth consecutive year.
Phil Baty, Chief Global Affairs Officer at THE, noted the latest results reflect a permanent shift in global higher education, signaling a historic realignment of academic power from West to East.
Acting President Professor Chun-Sing Lee stated CityUHK will continue to embrace a pioneering mindset, deepening international research and pedagogical collaboration to address pressing global challenges through visionary research outcomes.
