A unique Roman axe, nearly 2,000 years old, has been restored in Harelbeke. The axe was discovered a few years ago during archaeological excavations in the Collegewijk district of Harelbeke. Because the axe was found at the bottom of a well, it has been well preserved over the years. "We are considering exhibiting the axe in Harelbeke in the future," says Alderman for Heritage Francis Pattyn (Team Harelbeke).
