Christian Horner Ferrari ‘dream’ blasted as ‘embarrassing’ by Schumacher
Ferrari says it has full confidence in Fred Vasseur as speculation over Christian Horner’s future prompts fresh scrutiny of the team principal role.
In a September 2026 interview with The Times, former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner described leading Ferrari as his "dream" job, reigniting speculation about his potential return to Formula 1.
Horner has remained out of Formula 1 for 15 months following his dismissal from Red Bull after the 2025 British Grand Prix, where he served as CEO and team principal for 20 years.
Sky Sports pundit Martin Brundle spoke with Horner, who insisted he was "just being polite and respectful" regarding Ferrari and clarified he is not currently interested in any specific role.
On Tuesday, Ferrari chief communications officer Maria Conti reaffirmed the team's "full confidence" in Fred Vasseur, dismissing external speculation about leadership changes.
Former driver Ralf Schumacher criticized Horner's public comments as "embarrassing" and a "mark of incompetence," suggesting such behavior reflects poorly on his professional character.
