Chinese chipmaker CXMT suing US defence department over blacklist
CXMT says the Pentagon designation has caused commercial harm and violated its due-process rights.

- Initially designated under the Biden administration in January 2025, the company's status was upheld in June 2026; CXMT argues the Pentagon's classification is "baseless," asserting its memory products are designed for civilian and commercial applications.
- Bolstered by global memory demand, CXMT reported first-half 2026 revenues of around $22bn, an increase of 874%, while its market capitalization recently reached approximately $520bn, surpassing Tencent.
