Chinatown Thefts up 17%; 5th Precinct Warns of Gift Card Scams | Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association

On May 6, the NYPD's 5th Precinct held its monthly community meeting at the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association. Precinct Chief Lin Wei-bin stated that while the overall number of major crimes in the precinct has decreased compared to the same period last year, theft and telephone fraud cases have increased significantly recently, urging residents to be more vigilant.
