The Chinese Communist Party's "Law on Promoting National Unity and Progress of the People's Republic of China" is scheduled to officially take effect on July 1. Japanese lawmaker Tsukasa Shirakawa warned in an op-ed that the law is tantamount to issuing a "legal license" for transnational arrests worldwide.
