On the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the prices of gasoline and diesel in mainland China were raised from midnight on September 25. Based on a 50-liter fuel tank, it will cost car owners about 15 yuan more to fill up with 92-octane gasoline, and the fuel expenses of freight vehicles will also increase accordingly.
Gasoline in China is already 24 percent more expensive than it was before the war with Iran, and diesel by 26 percent. Beijing is raising fuel prices again, but limiting the scale of the hikes. At the same time, gasoline and diesel inventories fell to their lowest levels in more than a decade.
Gasoline prices will rise by 395 yuan (€51.72) per tonne, when they should have increased by 830 yuan (€108.68) following "considerable" market fluctuations.
