China pressured Munich institute to cancel Taiwan author event: Diplomat
Taipei, Oct. 5 (CNA) The Chinese consulate in Munich unsuccessfully pressured a local literary institute to cancel a talk by Taiwanese author Yang Shuang-tzu (楊双子) last week, according to Chao Yen-ching (趙彥清), director of Taiwan's representative office in Munich.
Taiwanese writer Yang Shuangzi recently attended a lecture in Munich, Germany, where the performance of the interpreter sparked controversy. Today, Zhao Yanqing, director of the Taiwan Representative Office in Munich, confirmed that the Chinese Consulate General in Munich had pressured the organizers before the event and demanded that it be canceled.
