Hamilton Calls for Ferrari Change but Backs Vasseur
Hamilton said Ferrari needs structural changes while backing Fred Vasseur, as the team dismissed Christian Horner job speculation and cited a 0.4-second deficit.
On Thursday, Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton threw their weight behind team principal Fred Vasseur, aiming to quash persistent rumors linking former Red Bull boss Christian Horner to the Frenchman's job.
Speculation surrounding Vasseur's position intensified after Horner recently declared leading the Scuderia a "dream," while both drivers acknowledged performance struggles including a power deficit compared to rivals.
Seven-Time world champion Hamilton offered his "full backing" to Vasseur, calling him "the right guy" to lead the Italian team, though he admitted the current leadership structure may require future adjustment.
Reiterating "full confidence" in Vasseur, Ferrari executive chairman John Elkann and CEO Benedetto Vigna moved to shut down speculation regarding the team's leadership.
Hamilton remains committed to fixing a "four-tenths" to "six-tenths" engine power deficit, a technical challenge the team is working to resolve for next season.
