Player Banned and Fined After Incident with Fan During Pompey v Cardiff Game
Krystian Bielik admitted misconduct after a touchline clash with a Portsmouth supporter, and an independent commission imposed the ban and fine.
- The Football Association banned Cardiff City defender Krystian Bielik for two matches and fined him £10,000 on Tuesday after he admitted misconduct during a Portsmouth fixture last month.
- During Cardiff's 2-0 defeat at Fratton Park on September 5, Bielik grabbed a teenage supporter by the throat after the fan deliberately threw the ball away to waste time.
- The supporter slapped Bielik in the face in retaliation, and Hampshire Police resolved the matter through an out-of-court disposal after the player provided an apology.
- An independent Regulatory Commission imposed the sanctions after Bielik admitted he "acted in an improper manner" around the 71st minute, which match official Ben Speedie did not penalize at the time.
- Bielik will miss the Championship trip to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday and the home fixture against Watford on Tuesday, October 13, as a result of the two-match suspension.
