Chadwick Boseman’s Widow Accuses His Brothers of Trying to ‘Smear’ Her
Ledward says she has fully complied with the court order and gave Boseman’s family more than required, including $300,000 to his nephews.
- On Thursday, Taylor Simone Ledward filed court documents slamming her late husband's brothers' petition as a "public-relations stunt to smear Simone in the tabloid press," with her attorney Adam Streisand writing she exceeded her legal obligations.
- Derrick and Kevin Boseman petitioned the court earlier this month seeking to remove Ledward as administrator, claiming she failed to distribute Chadwick's remaining assets nearly six years after he died without a will.
- Court documents showed Ledward distributed $151,558 from Bank of America, company shares valued at $3.4 million, and $75,000 each to Derrick and Kevin, plus more than $300,000 of her own funds gifted to Derrick's four children.
- While defending her management, Ledward objected to the proposed replacement administrator Jason Rubin, citing "serious allegations" against him in other cases, and highlighted her work establishing the Chadwick Boseman Foundation for the Arts.
- The brief marriage between Chadwick Boseman and Ledward began August 21, 2020, six days before his death at age 43 from colon cancer, which he battled since his 2016 diagnosis.
