Sanjiv Goenka-Led RPSG Arm to Acquire 1.4 GW Solar Projects From ReNew for Rs 4,859 Crore
The deal would lift Purvah’s contracted capacity to 4.8 GWp and advance RPSG’s plan to build a 10 GW renewable platform.
On Monday, Purvah Green Power announced the acquisition of a 1.4 GWp operating solar portfolio from ReNew Solar Power for an enterprise value of ₹4,859 crore .
The portfolio comprises six project special purpose vehicles spread across Rajasthan and Karnataka, with more than 90% of capacity contracted under 25-year power purchase agreements with the Solar Energy Corporation of India .
Parent company CESC Ltd funded the acquisition, which increases Purvah's contracted renewable capacity to 4.8 GWp from approximately 3.4 GWp.
RPSG Vice Chairman Shashwat Goenka said the deal "gives us immediate operating scale, complements our strong pipeline of contracted capacity, and meaningfully brings forward the growth of the platform."
The acquisition supports the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group's stated target of building a 10 GW renewable energy platform over the next few years, with completion expected by October 2026.
