The deal would lift Purvah’s contracted capacity to 4.8 GWp and advance RPSG’s plan to build a 10 GW renewable platform.

  • On Monday, Purvah Green Power announced the acquisition of a 1.4 GWp operating solar portfolio from ReNew Solar Power for an enterprise value of ₹4,859 crore .
  • The portfolio comprises six project special purpose vehicles spread across Rajasthan and Karnataka, with more than 90% of capacity contracted under 25-year power purchase agreements with the Solar Energy Corporation of India .
  • Parent company CESC Ltd funded the acquisition, which increases Purvah's contracted renewable capacity to 4.8 GWp from approximately 3.4 GWp.
  • RPSG Vice Chairman Shashwat Goenka said the deal "gives us immediate operating scale, complements our strong pipeline of contracted capacity, and meaningfully brings forward the growth of the platform."
  • The acquisition supports the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group's stated target of building a 10 GW renewable energy platform over the next few years, with completion expected by October 2026.
