CENTCOM Chief Tells Senators Iran's Hold on Strait of Hormuz Has Weakened, but Threats Remain
Cooper said U.S. strikes destroyed more than 90% of Iran’s naval mines and damaged over 85% of its missile and drone industrial base.

- On Thursday, maritime security agency UKMTO reported "unauthorised personnel" seized a ship near Fujairah, while an Indian cargo vessel was sunk off Oman with all 14 crew members rescued.
- Separately, an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander said 30 ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz since Wednesday night, stressing vessels linked to "an enemy state" remain barred.
- Security remains sensitive as Fujairah serves as the UAE's sole oil port outside the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran recently released an expanded map claiming control over that coastal area.
