Celtics G Derrick White Wins Nba Sportsmanship Award
On Thursday, the NBA named Boston Celtics guard Derrick White the 2025-26 recipient of the league's Sportsmanship Award, adding a significant honor to his career just days before Game 3.
Current NBA players selected White from six division finalists, with the guard securing 2,827 total points to edge out Indiana Pacers guard T.J. McConnell in a close vote.
The 31-year-old guard has built a respected career featuring a 2024 championship run, two All-Defensive Second Team selections, and a gold medal with Team USA at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Following a challenging Game 2, White scored eight points in a 111-97 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers and told reporters, "I just have to play better" heading into Game 3.
White becomes the second consecutive Celtic to win the Joe Dumars Trophy, which honors the Detroit Pistons legend who received the inaugural award 30 years ago.
