Celtic appoint Wilfried Nancy as new manager

On December 3, 2025 Celtic confirmed Wilfried Nancy as their new manager, ending a month-long search and prising him from Columbus Crew.
After Brendan Rodgers resigned on Oct. 27, Celtic ran a month-long search while Martin O'Neill steadied the team with wins and a League Cup final place on December 14th.
Nancy arrives with a trophy-laden CV from MLS, having won the 2023 MLS Cup, 2024 Leagues Cup, and MLS Coach of the Year; Columbus said assistants Kwame Ampadu, Jules Gueguen and Maxime Chalier will join him in Glasgow.
Nancy will officially begin work on Thursday under a two-and-a-half-year deal and faces his first game at home to Hearts on Sunday, plus Europa League and League Cup final duties.
Although successful in MLS, Nancy has never coached in Europe and reportedly signed a long-term Columbus Crew deal in 2024 likely to at least 2027, prompting praise from Crew owners.
