CCL Holder Shoots Suspect in Robbery Attempt at Gas Station in Orland Park
Police said the customer was a licensed concealed carry holder and the suspect was taken to a hospital after the shooting.
- On Tuesday morning, a customer with an Illinois Concealed Carry License shot a suspect attempting an armed robbery at a Shell gas station near 151st Street and Harlem Avenue in Orland Park.
- According to Orland Park Police, a masked person approached the customer at the pump and pointed a weapon, allegedly targeting him assuming he drove an Acura.
- Station manager Naseem Elmosa reported hearing at least two gunshots and told NBC Chicago the scene was 'scary for everybody around here' as he witnessed the suspect limping away.
- The CCL holder is cooperating fully with the ongoing Orland Park Police investigation, while the suspect is receiving treatment at a local hospital.
- Officials stated there is no further threat to the public, and Orland Park Police will release additional updates as information becomes available regarding the investigation.
