Case against West Virginia woman accused of plotting Trump assassination is dismissed
The dismissal followed a prosecutor’s motion after court documents said Morrow was not informed her interview statements could be used against her.
Morgan L. Morrow, a librarian from West Virginia, was charged with making a terroristic threat for allegedly recruiting assassins to kill President Donald Trump, but the charges were dismissed without prejudice due to failure to advise her of her Miranda rights during interrogation.
Morrow posted a video on social media with a caption suggesting a sniper with a terminal illness, leading to her arrest shortly after the video was shared.
Morrow admitted during an interview that she posted the threatening statement directed at the president, but was not properly Mirandized before interrogation.
Several assassination attempts on President Donald Trump occurred in 2024, including incidents involving Thomas Crooks and Ryan Wesley Routh, the latter sentenced to life in prison.
