Drake introduced Leiweke to Venezia, where he will join the club’s leadership after investing $117.72 million, the team said.
Oak View Group co-founder Tim Leiweke announced on Thursday a $117.72 million investment in newly promoted Serie A club Venezia, following his 2025 pardon by President Donald Trump after a Justice Department indictment.
Canadian rapper Drake, an investor in VFC since 2024, facilitated the partnership by introducing Leiweke and Francesca Bodie, his daughter, having previously collaborated with them at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.
Venezia appointed Leiweke co-chairman of its operating committee while naming Bodie club president, leveraging his experience managing Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena and UBS Arena in New York.
Leiweke stated the investment aims to engineer a culture of winning, declaring "We are bringing that same expertise to Venice to ensure VFC's incredible fans have a world-class home and are a permanent fixture in Serie."
Drake emphasized the team understands success, saying "They know what success looks like and how to build it," while Leiweke affirmed commitment to enhancing Venezia's "legacy of this storied club.
