The United States is considering landing on islands off the coast of Iran to stop attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Wall Street Journal. A warship with 2,200 soldiers is reportedly currently en route to the area. “You really have two choices,” says a retired military official.
Thousands of marines are approaching the Middle East, with a high chance that they will land on the islands in the Strait of Hormuz, but they could also launch a land operation against the center of Iranian oil exports.
