The US Marines are preparing for a special operation on the Persian Gulf and the capture of Iranian islands. The Pentagon is even considering a risky military action in Iran to destroy enriched uranium.
The United States is considering landing on islands off the coast of Iran to stop attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Wall Street Journal. A warship with 2,200 soldiers is reportedly currently en route to the area. “You really have two choices,” says a retired military official.
Thousands of marines are approaching the Middle East, with a high chance that they will land on the islands in the Strait of Hormuz, but they could also launch a land operation against the center of Iranian oil exports.
