Scientists recommend capping catches at 353,000 tonnes by 2027, twice as much as last year. A relative better thing that stays under the water is that it's not enough to release the pressure on the Atlantic mackerel, but it's the first thing on Le Singulier.

The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) recommends a maximum mackerel catch of 352,938 tonnes in 2027. This is an increase of 102 percent from the advice for 2026.
