Can a Rose Parade float help heal a politically fractured nation?

Next year, America250 is entering a float called Soaring Onward Together in the 137th Rose Parade along Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena to commemorate America’s 250th birthday and the Declaration of Independence.

Organizers opted for a subtle, nature-based palette rather than overt red, white and blue, with no American flag on the float though hand-held flags will be distributed; Lynn Forney Young hopes the semiquincentennial rekindles bicentennial 1976 patriotism five decades later.
