75-year-old man complains of chest pain at CJP protest, dies after hospitalisation
A 75-year-old Thane man who travelled nearly 30 km to attend the CJP protest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park died of a heart attack after complaining of chest pain. Gopalakrishna Subbaiya Pillai was rushed to nearby Sushrusha Hospital, where he died while receiving treatment.

Gopalakrishna Subbaiya Pillai, a resident of Thane, attended a protest at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. He arrived at the site around 4:30 PM to participate in the event. Shortly after 5 PM, he experienced severe chest pain and required immediate medical attention. Despite efforts from police and hospital staff, he could not be revived and passed away at Sushrusha Hospital.
