Cabinet approves new authority to enhance R&D across transportation and logistics

  • ITLA will appraise government infrastructure projects costing Rs 500 crore or more and integrate data from GST Network, FASTag, Vahan, and GPS-based systems to support evidence-based project planning.
  • The authority will evaluate annual and five-year sectoral plans to ensure alignment with the National Transport Master Plan, while assisting in updating the National Logistics Policy, 2022.
  • Establishment of the ITLA will play a pivotal role in realizing India's Vision 2047 by strengthening multimodal connectivity, improving infrastructure efficiency, and reducing logistics costs, the government said.
