In a statement, regarding the news that the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Ministry of Finance has extended the license for the work of the Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) until September 30, she stated that the new license extension is a signal that there is progress and the will to ensure the additional necessary time in order to "finish this complex transaction".
The obtained license enables the continuation of business cooperation and the fulfillment of contractual obligations in accordance with the sanctions regime and the applicable regulatory framework.
JANAF d.d. in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Croatia and with the legal assistance of its American lawyers, it received an extension of its license from the American OFAC, which ensures continuity of cooperation and further implementation of contractual obligations towards the company NIS a.d. until September 30, 2026.
NIS has received its operating license for another month, indicating that the continuity of fuel supply in Serbia is assured, while work continues on resolving the long-term situation of NIS. There may have been progress in the negotiations between MOL and Russia's Gazpromneft, thus providing additional time to close the deal.
