Chinese automotive giant BYD's overseas revenue in the first half of the year surpassed its revenue from the Chinese market for the first time. This change ended BYD's five-quarter losing streak in profits, driven by increasingly fierce competition in the Chinese automotive market.
Foreign sales grew 33.9%, to the equivalent of $26,947 million (about €23,248 million)
BYD, China’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, announced that overseas sales accounted for more than half of its total revenue in the first half of the year. The company increased its export profitability while battling smaller competitors in the challenging domestic market.
