BERLIN (AP) — Wolfsburg advanced their bid to survive in the Bundesliga on Sunday with a 1-1 draw in Freiburg.
The Greek defender gave his team the lead at Freiburg's home ground, with the final 1-1 bringing Wolfsburg to 16th place, which leads to the relegation play-offs with the 3rd-placed team in the B division.
The ÖFB internal defender Philipp Lienhart scored for Freiburg the balance to the 1:1 final against Wolfsburg. The Lienhart traded in Freiburg in the second half hit in the 75th minute per head. Patrick Wimmer was used in the Wolfsburgers in the descent fight until the 72nd minute.
The VfL Wolfsburg wins a point in the match against SC Freiburg – and is thus on the relegation field.
Because the VfL Wolfsburg does not go beyond a 1:1 at the SC Freiburg, the HSV and Union can cheer.
